the only reason they do so good with marketing is because they know HOW to market. they have good commercials that grab attention. their computers are not any better than gateway or sony…though, Ive heard sony and gateway have horrible customer service. Have never really liked Dell, everyone uses the least expensive parts that they can get because it is all about the money. That said I have found that HP has a very good technical support system with knowledgeable tech support people that make it easy to use and has a good deal less runaround than I had from Dell or Gateway.
